Elder Marshall Newsome, a native Mississippian and Army veteran has been serving the Lord for more than 20 years. Humble beginnings coupled with military discipline have positioned this man of God to be a doer of the word and not a hearer only. Understanding the seriousness of his call to be saved, he developed a “Yes!” early in his Christian life. This “Yes!” resulted in a call to the ministry 2 years after committing to Christ.

Having served the Lord in Germany and Tacoma, Washington, Elder Newsome has served some great leaders as Adjutant and Armour Bearer. His most memorable ministry was to the saints at Wells Memorial which began under Bishop Ithiel Clemmons then continued with Dr. Herman G. Platt. Under Dr. Platt, Elder Newsome was appointed as the Director of Youth Ministries.
Elder Newsome is married to the former Angela Wilson. To this union, they have added two sons, Christopher and Benjamin.
Elder Newsome has served the people of God as a deacon, marriage counselor, seminar instructor, Adjutant Overseer, Adjunct Chaplain in the Moses Cone Health System, Volunteer Coordinator, Field Trainer, Volunteer Field Representative and in various other capacities. His commitment to God & Family has been demonstrated in his work with Promise Keepers, Carolinas Men of Integrity, and the National Center for Fathering. He has supported his local community through service as the President of the Five Points Community Pride Association and Chairman of the High Point Parks and Recreation Commission Board. Elder Newsome has supported Greater North Carolina Jurisdiction Mission To Men as the Secretary and Chief of Staff.
In June 2006, this servant answered the call of God to establish Providence Church Of God In Christ in High Point, NC. This new assignment has resulted in great personal growth and a newfound joy in serving God’s people.
